FEMA's Recommendations

This is FEMA's Recommendation for 72 Hours worth of preparations.

Minimum Emergency Preparedness Kit

- Water - 1 Gallon per person per day for three days for drinking and sanitation

- Food - Three day supply per person per day of non perishable, shelf stable food - The minimum a person needs                         is 1000 calories per day. Less than that has the same physiological effect as total starvation.

- Battery Powered or Hand Crank NOAA Weather Radio

- Flashlight

-First Aid Kit

- Extra Batteries

- Signal Whistle

- Dust Mask

- Plastic Sheeting

- Duct Tape

- Moist Towelettes

- Garbage Bags w/ties for personal sanitation

- Manual Can Opener

- Local Maps

- Cellphone w/ Charger and Battery Backup

- Cloth Face Covering

- Sanitizer

- Disinfecting Wipes

- Prescription Medicine

- Prescription Eye Glasses

- Infant Formula

- Bottles

- Diapers

- Rash Cream

- Pet Food and Extra Water

- Cash or Travelers Checks

- Important Documentation

- Waterproof Container for Documents

- Sleeping Bag, Blanket for each Person

-  Complete Change of Clothes

- Fire Extinguisher

- Matches, Firestarter, Waterproof Container

- Feminine Supplies and Personal Hygiene

- Mess Kit - Cups, Plates, Utensils

- Paper & Pencil(s)

- Books, Games, Cards, Child Activities
